In March, ERAC decided to pilot a social learning commons site, ERAC Commons to help facilitate their Digital Road Map Project. By early May, the site was “soft-launched”. The full launch came in January, 2012.
This was a separate, parallel project to the Digital Learners project but it provided a chance to see some of the social learning technologies first hand that were having an increasingly large role on the discovery and sharing of learning resources and best practices.
One of the sites that was part of the ERAC Commons platform was a site to help teachers find and share comments and ratings about mobile applications for education: http://eraccommons.ca/mobileapps/
Another more recent site focused on e-Books: http://eraccommons.ca/ebooks/
